"See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness." Hebrews 3:12-13 NIV
One word can change your life.
Imagine if today you received a word of encouragement that would change the entire trajectory of your day, and even your life?
What if that word changed your life today?
The quoted scripture above reminds us that as long as it is 'today' we should encourage, not only because it is a good daily practice, but because it has the potential to stop our hearts, and the hearts of others, from turning away from God; because sin is extremely deceitful and can creep up on us unawares, unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.
But we are each other's keepers, and that one word, phone call, text message and even that visit may just be the daily dose of goodness that reminds a needy soul (yours included) that God cares for them, and that their lives are worthy of time, effort and affection.
Your words can change a life, your words can strengthen, and your words can encourage.
Will you use them to do that today?
"Kind words are like honey — sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." Proverbs 16:24 NLT
